Our contributor arrived in Cowley just as it started to rain. Things got better, however, when an east bound freight train pulled onto a siding and stopped. As they waited for a west bound train to pass, our contributor was able to talk to a few of the trainmen. Rail fans will be interested to know that as many as 7 or 8 trains a day pass through Cowley. Unfortunately, the number is highly variable, and there is no schedule. According to a trainman, “Even if you had called [the railroad] yesterday they probably wouldn’t have known.”
